Though the city bus was 10min. behind the schedule,
it took me to the ferry terminal at Departure Bay,
where I changed buses one day before.
Walked through out the cafe and shops in the terminal
until the waiting room locating at the end.
As I caught the bus 30min. earlier than that
I was told to take from the hotel manager,
I could arrive earlier and had a chance to
watch the ferry's putting into port.
Boarding time !

The situation of passengers hurry up to board
is the same in everywhere in the world,
it is not necessary indeed though..
The front cabin is usually assigned for a paid lounge,
but it is free in this Coastal Renaissance.

Passengers can capture the spectacular 180 degree
panoramic coastal views from comfortable seats.

Departure from "Departure" Bay terminal

hahaha....
Depart just on time at 3:10 PM

Good Bye Nanaimo !
The ferry is passing the mouth of Departure Bay.

Nanaimo DT was seen between cape and an island.
Passengers were at first enjoying outdoor sceneries,
but disappeared soon after the ferry left the bay.
The sister ship of "Coastal Inspiration"
was passing by.

"Coastal Class" ferries are currently the largest
double-ended ferries in the world. "
On this journey we met an accidental event..

The announcement said they found a drifting boat
and had to check if there was any crew.

A helicopter was also coming for this incident.
After several orbiting around the boat
the ferry left, but it delayed about 10min.
Soon City of Vancouver was seen !

This land must be the tip of peninsula
where UBC campus locates.
Some buildings on campus could be observed.

I stayed one of them and saw just opposite side
about 10 days before.
Vancouver DT was also coming in sight !
I dashed up to open deck to see it
directly with my eyes.

UBC Gage Towers where I used to stay
were clearly observed as well !
Other ferries were frequently departing
from Horseshoe Bay.
That is the same ferry in terms of double-ended,
but it looked a little smaller and older.
Final approach to Horseshoe Bay terminal.
Once a ferry landed and unloaded its carrying vehicles,
the road is always momentarily flooded by them.
The bus is also full up, so I killed a short time
for the next bus by strolling around
Horseshoe Bay town

This was my second visit to be here.

Last time I came here with my car 20yrs ago.

Walked around remembering the last visit.
The next bus had come pretty soon.

Accidentally and luckily, ticket vender of the bus
was unavailable, and every passengers could
take the bus for free to downtown.

If I had rushed to take the first full loaded bus,
I had to stand and pay ordinary fare of $4.

LUCKY and HAPPY !!
Crossed the Lion's Gate Bridge with watching
Vancouver DT's skyline at left hand side.

I came back !
Stayed over night at a hotel in DT

After checked in strolled on Robson St.
like an ordinary tourist do.
Japanese related business is relatively busier than before I thought.
Newly constructed high-rise buildings are increasing.
